About the artist

What is the nature of reality? What is our purpose in this lifetime? What exactly are dreams trying to tell us?

As an artist, these are the questions that inspire my creative process. I believe there is a vast and mysterious world within the unconscious mind—one filled with symbolic language, emotions, and insights. Painting allows me to access and explore these inner landscapes, giving shape to the intangible so I can reflect, feel, and grow. Much like poetry or music, I see art as a tool for healing. A way to reconnect with our human potential and enhance our sense of well-being.

My name is Wesley, and I’m a visual artist from the Netherlands, currently based in Melbourne, Australia. After five years working in graphic and visual design, I chose to carve my own path and dedicate myself fully to the artistic journey. For the past four years, my work has centered around visions and impressions drawn from spiritual experiences, meditation, contemplation, and everyday life.

A key turning point in my development came through studying with my partner and art mentor, Tennessee Charpentier. She introduced me to the world of oil painting, which opened up a new dimension of expression. The most valuable lesson she shared with me was to paint from what I feel—to let the work emerge organically from personal experience. That process not only makes each piece authentic, but also creates space for others to connect with their own stories through the art. Through her guidance, I was introduced to painting in realism and surrealism, using digital collages as references for the physical paintings.

Travel

While traveling through the United States, I discovered the vibrant visionary art community there. I became fascinated with the way many artists were combining multi-perspective grid systems and (sacred) geometry to create dynamic, multidimensional works. This opened a deep inspiration in me, one that continues to shape my artistic voice and signature.

Geometric Realism

Geometry serves as a language of the unconscious to me—a way to structure and communicate spiritual experiences that go beyond words.
Realism, on the other hand, reflects the conscious world—a way to ground my visions in tangible form and connect them to shared human experience.

Through my art, I aim to create a balance between these two worlds: blending the abstract with the concrete, the inner with the outer.
